Fig. 1 Discrepancy in occurrences of AACGTT and TTCGAA patterns between real bacterial genomes and the corresponding artificial genomes. Random sequences (N = 5) in a size of 1 Mb were used to normalize the occurrences of AACGTT and TTCGAA patterns under a specific GC content. The occurrences in the real genomes and the artificial genomes (N = 10) were standardized into those per- 1 Mb genomic sequence. (A and B) Show the occurrences of AACGTT and TTCGAA patterns in the genomes from group 1. (C and D) Show the occurrences of AACGTT and TTCGAA patterns in the genomes from both group 2 and group 3.
